google talk delete from iMessage 10.13

Previous posts covering earlier versions of Mac OS have indicated that there's no way to get rid of Google Talk accounts that show up in the list of accounts in iMessage account preferences. Just wondering if that is still true in High Sierra. I do not see a way to turn this off in Hangouts (successor to Google Talk) and the Minus button in the list of messaging accounts is grayed out. Any ideas? Or just live with this?

I have just discovered the jabber/talk problem in iMessage. I resolved it by deleting the entire google account in 'System Preferences' > 'Internet Accounts'. I no longer required the mail and notes so I am not setting it up.
