Customers complaining a paid app is being billed as a subscription

Recently (within the last week or two) we've had a few customers complaining that they've been signed up to a subscription for one of our apps. We've also had a one star review complaining about the same thing.


The app is (and always has been) a simple paid app, there are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions, so I'm at a loss to explain this. It's not something we've had before either.


Has anyone else had this?


My best guess is that there's a bug in Apple's invoicing system - one customer sent screenshots of several purchase confirmation emails for the app (all showing the same date, and all looking like a regular one-off payment). If it's sending out multiple payment confirmations, people might think they're being billed multiple times, therefore it's a subscription.
