Upgraded to 2014 15" Macbook Pro to High Sierra. It does not accept the (correct) password and I am unable to log in. Local user account. User and password are absolutely correct.

I was able to reset the password by doing cmd+r at boot, opening a terminal and running "resetpassword". Still no idea how it happened - the upgrade ran without a hitch. But I'm able to login now.
Was the computer bound to Active Directory?
We have an enterprise-level bug open where we've seen that if computers have "managed, mobile" accounts (read, they log in with AD credentials) and AD is *offline* during the upgrade, that users -- *sometimes* -- can not log back into their accounts post-upgrade.
Reconnecting to AD resolves it immediately, but we don't know what specifically causes it to work/not work when it happens.
