No beta update even after reinstalling beta configuration profile

I am on 11.0. Today I reinstalled the beta profile on my Apple TV 4th gen, rebooted, but not update can be found. It is now 5:30 pm Eastern time, several hours after beta 11.1 was announced. Was it pulled? Or is something wrong with my profile install? I can see "Get Beta Updates" turned on in Settings>System>Software Updates.

"Get Beta Updates" is for Public Beta users to receive betas, not Developer betas. The tvOS 11.1 beta is not available for Public Seed users yet.

I suspect what's happening in your case is that the Developer profile you installed is being overridden by the Public Beta setting. I'd recommend setting Get Beta Updates = Off, and then checking for a software update.

If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the Developer profile, restart the Apple TV, then reinstall the Developer profile and check for a software update again.

I'm actually seeing this as well (except for the Beta Updates setting, that's always off here)....

Installed profile, restarted, checked for updates... nothing.

Removed profile, restarted, added profile, restarted, checked for update... still nothing.

This is only on our 4K, the other ATV 4 boxes updated just fine.

Can you please file a bug report and attach a sysdiagnose from an affected device, and let me know the bug number?

Setting beta updates to off did not help. Reinstalled twice, first deleting the profile and re-adding it and then overwriting it but still no luck finding the update. I am not familiar with what should be included in a bug report for Apple TV but if ckd cannot do it let me know and I can try to help with instructions.

If you can file a bug report at bugreport.apple.com, and attach a sysdiagnose to it, that would be helpful in helping us diagnose what is happening with your device.

Sure can! Thanks for the quick reply... bug number is 34698258

Also, to be sure, if this a profile that you've downloaded recently from https://developer.apple.com/download/? Have you used this profile to download tvOS 11 beta updates before?

In June of this year we updated the Developer profile to support tvOS 11 beta updates, so I wonder if you might have an older profile installed which only supports tvOS beta updates up to 10.2.x.

Yes, it is a new profile I just downloaded today. I had one installed from a few months ago that I had been using for betas until 11 was released. But since the update was not showing up today, I decided to redownload and reinstall (but it did not help). Thanks.

Thanks, this is very helpful. One question about your other Apple TV's that don't have this issue - do you see "Get Beta Updates" on those devices too? Are they logged into the same iCloud, GameCenter, or iTunes account as the Apple TV that is hitting this issue?

Are you also a member of the Apple Beta Software Program (Public Seeds)? https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/

I do see Get Beta Updates across the other devices, but it is not enabled on any of them.

Yes, they all use the same Apple ID for all services

I don't believe I'm enrolled in the public beta program, but it's possible... to the best of my knowledge, we don't use it for anything

...and just to confirm, the other devices that have Get Beta Updates visible are now running tvOS 11.1 beta or are they currently running something before the tvOS 11 GM build (15J381)?

Yes indeed, the other devices are on 11.1 and still have the Get Beta Updates visible but disabled.

same here i have deleted profile and installed like new and still nothing.

You should be able to sucesfsully update to tvOS 11.1 beta now.

Thanks - you should be able to update to tvOS 11.1 beta now if you'd like.
