Latest beta, setup a new ipad and trying to restore from iCloud. Restore of general data seems to finish, but all Apps in limbo (this was an issue with prior ios versions) Signing out of app store doesn’t work. Rebooting hard or soft doenst’ work. Can’ sign out of iCloud as it’s grayed out and claims 11 GB to go. Reset and tried again...same thing. Ideas? Bug??
anyone else have a solution? Three rounds of erase already and the restore seems to hang at 8-11 GB and no apps finishin installing.
Unless you're absolutely worried about having the exact same settings as the restore, you should set up as a new iPad. Your contacts, photos, music and things of that nature are safe in iCloud. You'd have to redownload apps, sign into email accounts again but that's generally it. I would suggest this in general when dealing with new iOS XX betas but if you continue to have issues backing up from iCloud, should do this as well.
Turns out the new iOS 11 feature of using the older iPad (or iPhone) to migrate settings has worked this round. This is definitely a buggy process so I’ll put in a report.
