Intel SGX support?

I'm just starting a project where we plan to use Intel's SGX (Software Guard Extensions), but there is no support on macOS for this hardware; it requires Skylake or later. In fact, there is nothing useful to be found on the web when searching for "intel sgx macos".

I just wanted to raise the issue here, and perhaps hear back what the policy is regarding this technology. I'm obviously aware of Apple's Secure Enclave, so I can understand if SGX is not a priority at Apple.

Anything that could be shared regarding this would be helpful for making decisions on my end, and I apologize if what I'm asking is considered sensitive information.

Thanks.

Kind regards,

🙂 Hein Meling

As far as I know Apple has not said anything publicly about SGX. If you have specific requirements, my recommendation is that you file an enhancement request describing those requirements.

Please post your bug number, just for the record.
