Unstable tracking for free-floating SceneKit objects

Hi all,


Is it just or is tracking for free-floating objects so much more unstable compared to tracking for surface-bound objects? For instance, the objects I place on surfaces with the official demo seem very stable, but free-floating objects (such as the example spaceship) are incredibly unstable and sometimes fly uncontrollably. Is there a way to make free-floating objects more stable, aside from just finding better backgrounds? Presumably, any free-floating object could be invisibly anchored to a surface, so I don't understand why the tracking should be so different.
