What is the font used in Notes/Reminders app?

I’m using iOS 11 beta and noticed the font used in Notes and Reminders apps look different from “San Francisco“ font in iOS 10. This is even true for macOS 10.13.

Does anyone know the name of this new font?

  • “San Francisco“? No such font on the macOS 10.14 as standard plus MS Office for Mac fonts.

I also noted that! I don't have access to the beta yet, but judging from the screenshots it looks like it's actually still San Francisco, but with some modification(s?). Specifically, Notes now uses a one-storey "a", which might just be a variant glyph already part of SF. Seems like Notes in macOS 10.13 doesn't use that variant (again, judging from screenshots), so I'm wondering what differences you make out in the macOS beta. Could you maybe upload a high resolution screenshot with some dummy text?

Here I was hoping they would finally get rid of the paper skeupmorphism in Notes on iOS, but instead they chose to add an ugly one-storey "a" ...

Agreed, that ’a’ is *****. Here’s a high res screenshot of most characters in plain, bold and italics, as well as the Headline size: http://i.imgur.com/4Z3SNaI.jpg

This has been annoying me. This is an inconsistency across apps, and the 'a' throws me off everytime. Just downloaded iOS 11. Don't know where else to post this or who to ask.

As iOS 11 is now public, user-centric queries/comments such as this are perhaps best put to Apple's public community support forums, run by AppleCare, and/or Apple's twitter support account, vs. risking off-topic here in the DevForums, thanks and good luck.
