How do I use image recogniton

So I am trying to make an app for a project at school, I have very minimal experience with code (much less with developing) and I am trying to create an app. The signature feature on my app is a scanner that uses the camera and ready either a logo or that can read printed words on an object. For any of you more experienced coders, how should I do this?

I have not started to make my app and I am just learning the basics of Swift and Xcode, I am trying to create an app that with utilize the phones' camera to read words on an object. I then want the app to look those words up using an algorithm I will make later in developments in google.
