XCode 7.3.1 Frequently Crashes

Hello all,


I have finally gotten a chance to get back into programming with Xcode but I'm running into a few issues. Basic tasks like creating a new project or changing panels from storyboard to something else result in extreme lag, or even the entire program not responding at all anymore. I am running XCode 7.3.1, and an iMac 2009, 6GB ram, 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, with about 50 GB of free disk space. OS X El Capitan 10.11.3. Is this some sort of compatibility issue? My apologies if it's something simple like that.

Your free space and physical ram are marginal, I think. But before I invested in a larger HD and more ram, I'd consider putting that money towards a much more modern computer.


At least max out the ram, and don't fall below your current free space, for now.
