Trouble with some devices connecting to iOS Personal Hostpot

Hello,

With various iOS devices (iPad Mini, iPhone 5, iPhone 6) and past the last few iOS releases, we sometimes have trouble when client devices attempt to connect to the personal hotspot on the iOS devices. The iOS device says the device is connected, but the other devices loop during the association/authentication phase of the process. We have not yet been able to connect one of the iOS devices up to a computer to gather the logs yet as this happens on devices we don't own or have immediate access to. We have already tried changing the device name so that the SSID is simple and follows all standards for 802.11 as well as having modified the passwords multiple times. The client devices have not experienced this exact same issue when connecting to any other hotspots/APs/etc with the closest issue only occuring on 1 old router that was configured to use the same WPA2 encryption types as hard-coded in the iOS hotspot feature. Meanwhile, the same client devices connect to other networks using the same encryption types just fine.

Anyone else see similar intermittent issues when connected Android (or any other) devices to iOS personal hostpot?

Given that Personal Hotspot has no API surface, this is more of a user-level question than an code-level question. You might have more luck asking it over in the Apple Support Communities, run by AppleCare.

Just FYI, on iOS 10 devices you can grab a sysdiagnose at the time the problem occurs and then download that from the device at some time in the future. The Bug Reporting > Profiles and Logs has instructions for this. It also has instructions for grabbing more Wi-Fi diagnostics, which might help here.
