Safari 10 Locks Up on Certain Sites

Getting beach ball on certain sites in Safari. No idea why. Have tried emptying cache, moving to 10.12b7 from b6, creating a new profile and hand moving assets to new profile, deleting all Application Support elements related to Safari, you name it.

Example site: https://webmail.va.gov

Originally it worked then over time just trying to get the splash screen up causes Safari to pinwheel cursor for between 2 and 3 minutes between each page update for that site. Not opening that site or any other similarly offending site offers no such issue. I can, for example, get to developer.apple.com and not see this problem. There are other sites that do the same thing.

Could not find my original post using the system here. Perhaps why nobody chimed in...

From a new post, I dug deeper and found that Safari Web Content was locking up per Activity Monitor. This takes some time but seems to get progressivally worse as Safari tries to retrieve the web page (good test is https://webmail.va.gov). Eventually Safari locks completely.

If the browser window and Safari is left alone for an eternity (some 10 to 15 minutes) something apparently times out and it comes back and displays the page and then Safari is usable again. I just let this happen now (two windows, this and the other webmail) and switched to Opera to keep researching. Opera does not have this problem.
