Guide to Creating Standalone iMessage App in iTunes Connect

Is there a step-by-step guide to creating a standalone iMessage app in iTunes Connect?


Here are the question we have:

  1. We create app ids in the “Certificate, identifiers, & Profiles” portal for the core and the extension as follows : com.Site.AppID and com.site.AppID.messageextension. The core app ID (com.Site.AppID) is set in the main Bundle Identifier plist and the extension app ID (com.site.AppID.messageextension) is set in the info.plist of the “MessageExtension” folder.
  2. Which app id do we use for the standalone project in iTunes Connect app : The core app id (com.Site.AppID) or the extension app id (com.site.AppID.messageextension)?
  3. Is there any special way to distinguish if it is a standalone iMessage app?
