Getting very sluggish performance on Sierra

How can I speed up my machine?


Could it be my video card?


I have an iMac Late-2013 running Sierra. I already did the reset techniques. What else is possible because Safari takes 100+ seconds to load?

On my MacBook Air Safari is so slow for me it is unusable and I eventually get a message about running out of application memory. Application memory starts at 3G before starting Safari and then goes above 6 and eventually hangs the system. I do not have this issue on my MacBook Pro with 16G of memory though. I only have one plugin installed (1Password).

Love to hear ideas of what to do to work around this problem.
