iOS 10 Activation Fail

At the end of the configuration of iOS 10 (activation phase) I get this message : Your iPhone could not be activated because the actvation server is temporarily unavailable...

Tested without success :

- restart and retry

- tests with different networks

- waiting before retry ( > 2 days)

- device restoration with iTiunes (KO)

What Can I do ?

Same problem here. I'm installing xcode 8 beta ( Important: You must have the latest beta version of Xcode 8 installed on your Mac before using a Restore Image to install iOS or tvOS beta software on a device) and then trying again... not sure if it makes a difference.

Happening to me too. Installed the Installed via the .mobileprovision OTA. Took upwards of an hour and several (automatic) restarts to even get to the "welcome" screen. It just plain failed without even getting to the login screen a bunch of times across 3 different SIMs (2 from AT&T, the original provider [it's unlocked now], and one Japanese one). Finally rebooted (which takes 10+ minutes, btw), and it asked for a wifi network but didn't display any, even though it showed the wifi connected icon in the status bar. Eventually got past that, and it finally asked for the apple ID to unlock, but after entering that it just gives the error about the activation server being unavailable.

Only tangentially related, it's rediculous that we need to re-activate after every major version upgrade, especially with all the activation issues.

Installing xcode 8 beta did not make a difference (xcode would not recognize the device) so I had to revert back to an iOS9 restore image through the restore mode https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201263

Will try again with another device ( tried on iPhone 6).

Eventually I have managed to install ios10 beta on an iPhone 6 Plus (the install on an iPhone 6 failed) by using iTunes (instructions here : https://developer.apple.com/support/beta-software/install-ios-beta/

Make sure that you have a backup of your previous image locally so that you can restore through https://support.apple.com/en-us/H…
