Optimised Storage macOS 10.12

Has anyone been able to test this yet? And if so does it work as well as Apple showed? I am having issues with macOS 10.12 so have not been able to test. I need to be able to write about it so any feedback is good thanks!

I have done this on my macbook pro retina late 2013 starting at ~17GB free of a 250GB drive. After it was finished I was able to have ~45GB free. I was even able to remove an old iphone backup of a phone I no longer have. I would say it is worth trying. Hopefully you will also have good results.

Thanks for your response, Blutegel. How do you start the optimize storage process?

Was thinking the same thing. Go to About This Mac -> Storage -> Manage.

As for my part, I hope they will change that. Maybe create a separate Application, or integrate this inside the DiskUtility or the System Settings
