What Devs Say About the Review Process

Most agree it's not a fun thing to face...

Stat grabs from the linked article:

- 49% of devs give the process a thumbs down

- App Review receives an avg. 53,300 apps per month

- Apple has paid out nearly forty billion dollars in the last seven years

- 58% of devs said that app review communication was bad/terrible

I should note that while I've also felt the stress associated w/the submittal/review process, the store has been very good to me and I have no desire to move my efforts elsewhere.

And as I've said in the past, one thing Apple could try that would speed the process is to allow established devs the option to self-approve. Those apps would still go thru all the automated checks during submittal etc., perhaps with a cursory downstream review sometime after it goes live. Maybe restrict it to updates. Apps that clearly abuse the privilege would be summarily removed and the option denied to the dev going forward.
