Why does Xcode require to install additional components?

Hi everyone,

can someone explain to me why, every time I reinstall the xcode, a message appears that I need to install additional components? Is this the way it should be, or is it some kind of hacker program trying to install on my computer?

Any help would appreciate.

That's the normal way.

XCode is installed, then you can install additional components (like simulators).

I always accept to do it.

What do you mean everytime?

What macOS are you using? Is Xcode installed to Applications on your boot drive? How much free space on that drive? Is it unlocked? Have you let it install those additional components at least once per version? That's all it should take.

Thank! It has already reassured me!

Thanks guys!

I understand that my last questions are not for you.

The main thing is that I got an answer to my most important question - is this normal or is it a hacker program? If other users also have this message and install these additional components, then everything is fine and it can be continue to work.
