10.15.4 Beta (Build 19E224g) & LG 5K Monitor issues

Hi all,

With update to 10.15.4 Beta (Build 19E224g) my LG 5K Monitor (LG 34WK95U-W / Res. 5160 x 2160) is not properly working if attached to my MacBookPro (MBP 15-inch, 2017, Radeon Pro 560 4 GB).

Configurations:

Preferred / used to work / now not working => Screen stays black

MBP -> Thunderbolt -> LG (Screen res: 5160x2160)

Alternative / lower resolution => working

MBP -> HDMI -> LG (Screen res: 3440 x 1400, higher not possible

Alternative using both LG inputs & LG Split-Scree (HDMI & Thunderbolt) => working

MBP -> HDMI -> LG (Screen res: 3840 x 2160)

-> Thunderbolt -> LG (1280 x 2160)

Feedback filed to Apple, hopefully next update will fix the issue.

Anyone with same issue?

I have found the same issue with my LG 34WK94U. whih is the widescereen 34 in. I have a 27 in 5K also and it works properly on that monitor.

This just started with beta 2 and i have been playing with iot for a few days now. A reinstall with the current released OS it works fine. But upgrade to beta 2 and the monior acts up. It does seems to be just this monitor as I can connect other monitors here and it works fine.

I have also changed to a hdmi connection and it works fine. Issue is just with thunderbolt on this monitor.

issue solved with build 19E242d 🙂

Issue here still active under 19E242d. Dear apple please put in some proper testing to fix this thunderbolt 3 connection to monitors once and for all. The fact all works fine under windows bootcamp with the same devices gives proove to the idea that something with macos and thunderbolt 3 displays is not allright, especially in the combination with the 34WK95u thunderbolt 3 screen.

i just upgraded to 19E250c. My monitor is now working properly again.
