Is there any way to detect the MacBook Touch ID button press?

Hello

I would like to attach a custom action on touch id button press. Currently, when pressed for a second, it tries to switch user. I would like it to make it go to the sleep. Touch strip is very inconvenient in that regard - I have a "Sleep" touchstrip button, which I occasionally touch by mistake and the laptop goes to sleep all of a sudden. I prefer a physical button for that.

Is there a way to detect the touch id button being physically pushed (by making some HID events filter, perhaps)?

I even doubt it is possible. As this key is intended for security, I guess that its modification can only be done through preferences.

I looked in doc and could not find any property attached to touch ID button.
