In app purchase question

Hi,

we are developing an application on behalf of our Customer.

Our Customer is offering a mobile app as an alternative way to get some contents but they have a web e-commerce where their users will buy and pay for subscription.

The same content in this way are mainly available on the web and if and only the user wants can also download the mobile app from the App Store.

I would like to know if in this scenario the Customer will have to pay the 30% fee to Apple or not.

Regards,

Sayed

If by 'get contents' you mean the mobile app will only be used to view that content, aka 'reader app', Apple won't be involved in the billing, so no.

See the ASRGs 3.1.3(a) “Reader” Apps

In addition to the reader app 3.1.3(a) referenced above you can also operate under 3.1.3(b) and allow your users the choice of where to buy the content. If they choose IAP you can either absorb the 30% or change more for the IAP
