Cannot install latest MacOS Catalina Beta due to not enough disk space

I cannot install the latest macOS Catalina Beta (v10.15?) receiving a message "Your disk does not have enough space".

However, when I go to About this Mac -> Storage, it says I have 249.9 GB available of 1TB. This is after I deleted about 100 GB of stuff.

So, how can it not have the ~10GB needed for the beta upgrade? How can I get around this?

Thanks!

I had the same issue and I tried the PRAM reset and the installation of the update works out just fine.

I found out you have to manually free your space by creating a large dump file, and thann deleate this file.
I made a 20gb large file in the Terminal with this command "mkfile 20G ~/big_dummy"
After that rm -r big_dummy and the space is free.
