Wanted to ask if anybody tried using Telegram chat in your apps?

We've run into some issues on the first try (no documentation, a lot of dependencies, could not compile the sample app), so thought I'd ask for a second opinion. Looking for IOS/Android chat with features such as emojis, multimedia, read/writing status, notifications, etc.
