Two macs with same Mac OS 10.14.4 Beta 6. One runs slick the other constantly freezes and beachballs. Any insights?

macOS 10.14.4 beta 6. Problem jhas been consistent through all 10.14.4 betas.


MacMini 8GB 1TB Fusion - Freezes and beachballs

MacBook Pro 16GB 1TB SSD - Runs stablely and dependebly


Do I have a thumb twiddling background app and if so, how do I identify it? It is not visible to me in Activity Monitor nor in iStat Menus.


I do know how to rebuild OS from scratch and do have both cloned disks and Time Machine but a rebuild is a pain.

The beachball (especially in MESSAGES on Mac) is so annoying. I have to do a force shut down to stop it because it goes on for 3-5 miinues everytime I type anythig. Just any keboard key... WHAM - beachball! If I sign out of iCloud or turn off wireless then it stops. It must be a "text message in iCloud" issue?
