I have a business starting and have made a prototype app that has a team talking on headsets and changing teleconference rooms using "channel" buttons on the UI. All very straightforward.
However, a critical need of these teams is the ability to change channels outside of the app - without pulling their phone out, unlocking and pressing a UI button.
The simplest way would be to intercept the toggle play/pause button on their headset cord and reuse for this purpose. I've been able to technically do it but need to know what justifications I'll need to present to Apple reviewers and if they will accept this use.
The app will not play music and will only be used by signed-up members that understand the use case.
Alternatively, I need to find some other way to signal to the phone (LBE device, etc...)
