Remove from sale vs Remove App

We have developed a separate Pro app of a legacy version which has run its course after 10 years. We are leaving the original legacy version on the App Store for a month so users can get the final update (with an internal announcement that it will no longer be supported).

1) When we finally remove it from the App Store, which route do we take? "Remove from sale" or "Remove App?"

2) Additionally, many users are continuing to buy the legacy app even though we have a discountued and do not buy notice on its App Store "Description," "Promotional Text" and "What's New in this version." When we finally remove the app from the store, what do we tell users who bought the app not realizing it would no longer be supported? Basically, what is Apple's policy on refunds, is there a time limit?

3) If current users of the Legacy version delete the app, or purchase a new device, will they be able to download the removed from sale app into the future?

Thank you.

1) I would remove it from sale now, and worry later about deleting it via ASG later.

2) Use your support channels...email and website. You've otherwise done all you can to let them know.

Keep in mind that the old app will remain in the store for existing users should there be a need for them to re-download.
