An unknown error occurred

I have an application that gets a low number of “An unknown error occurred” failure reasons with error codes that I am unable to find documentation for.


The errors are:

  • An unknown error occurred (-6705)
  • An unknown error occurred (-12151)
  • An unknown error occurred (97)
  • An unknown error occurred (200453)
  • An unknown error occurred (-71872)
  • An unknown error occurred (-17221)


Is there any documentation or a way that I can find out what these error codes mean?

Is it IOS App ?


When do you get the error ? At launch ? Later in app ?

You posted in AVFoundation (Video and Camera forum. Is it on purpose because related to video ?


Don't you get a crash log ?


There is a site for lookup, but finds very few of your error codes and very limited info. So little help
