I'm not sure if this is an oversight or intentional so posting it here for reference and help understanding the phenomena.
1. Put the Xcode Beta DMG in your HOME directory; e.g. /Users/mrrobot
2. Double click
3. Finder pops up a Window with XcodeXIP.xip
4. Double click XcodeXIP.xip
5. Long extraction process completes, but nothing is in /Users/mrrobot ; also no window or feedback
6. Try again, go through whole process ... no change
7 . WAIT! It's in Downloads/ ?
if you are going to drop files out of the working direcotry, can ypu at least pop up a dialog?
