Is SpriteKit being depreciated?

WWDC 2017 and 2018 speak little if anything about SpriteKit. In-fact, we really don't see any improvments to the framework since WWDC 2016. Anyone know what's going on?

Yes, my sources have told me that Apple will be focusing only on Metal.

Your answer makes no sense. Metal is not an alternative to SpriteKit. Metal is an alternative to OpenGL. You are engaging in a complete category fallacy here.


SpriteKit supports Metal. "They will be focusing only on Metal" makes no sense as an answer.
