Ghost iMessages

Ever since enabling iCloud for iMessages both my macbooks are now showing ghost messages. The badge app says I have unread messages, when I 2-finger click on the app in my tray it shows the unread message but when I click that nothing happens and those messages dont appear in the application itself.

Any ideas? Apparently almost 1 trillion dollars still isnt enough to get things right these days. But hey, we got the Pride watch face so all is right in the world. *eye roll*

So I at least figured out how to clear them in case anyone else has this problem (but not how to stop the problem completely).

  • Right (2-finger) click on the app in the tray and see which number the un-read message is from.
  • Open the app and send a message to that number which will now give you control over that conversation
  • This should clear the notification you can then delete the message

User-centric queries/comments such as this are perhaps best put to AppleCare's public community support forums, Apple's twitter support account and/or Apple’s YouTube Support Channel vs. risking off-topic here in the DevForums, thanks and good luck.
