Developer Demographics?

Has there ever been anything released on this topic?


I happen to be a 60-yr old developer with his first app about to come out of public beta and hit the AppStore. I believe iOS app developers are pretty rare in my geographical area and I suspect my age adds addiitonal rarity. I'd be curious to see some data on this but all I've seen is the financial summary of how well the AppStore is doing.


Is there any way to tease out a little more detail? Age distribution, geographic distribution, anything?

What's the matter ? Who cares you're 16 or 60 ?


All they said at last WWDC keynote was there are now 20 millions Apple developers (?).


And globally, they made $100 Bn. Does not mean each has won $5K !

Age, while not broken out specifically, can perhaps be sussed from other metrics, such as years coding, etc. I'm now sitting on 50 yrs. since I first wrangled code. Still miss that old 360/20...
