ARKit 2.0 Object recognition minimum size

I'm trying to understand better the limitations on the size of the objects we can scan and detect, beyond 'tabletop'. I was scanning some game pieces which tend to be pretty small, without a lot of success so far. Is there a way to remove that restriction?
