How do I Fix this in my MacOS 10.15: Boot Chime after downgrading from Big Rum to Catalina. Any Terminal Commands or AppleScript to Fix this? Downgrading From Big Rum Gives a A Boot Chime I have used the macOS X 10.16 Beta install. Prior to installing the beta, I backed up my macOS Catalina with TMB. Having come across issues with its interoperability with currently installed software at the time, I restored to to my macOS Catalina TMB. A Boot Chime for Catalina: Thing is, having restored to the macOS Catalina TMB I created, mysteriously, the Boot Chime resides. It boots into Catalina, thought that is not intended. When I erased my hard drive, the Boot Chime was still there upon boot even. So, something is up. Should the Boot Chime Still Reside?: When I shut down the Mac, and then boot it back up again, then percentage is the same as it was when I rebooted. So, at Shut Down, with the volume at 65%, it Boots Up at 65%. The same for 100% and for 0%. Feedback Assistant: I reported this software's interoperability issue to Apple using the Feedback Assistant. I got word back it was fixed for Catalina - with no more errors popping up. And no more error messages regarding the software's interoperability issues with Big Rum a popping up. So, 3 Main Questions: Why the Chime? Should it be there? How do I rid of it? I would expect it to go away, yet it still has not.

I posted something in the ASC: "How come when I install macOS Catalina, I get a 2TB shown Hard Drive and a 970GB shown Hard Drive (totaling about 3TB)? All I have is a 1TB builtin (and 2TBof iCloud Storage). Is this 2TB referring to iCloud Storage?" Having posted in ADC for a bit - Apple Support told over the phone that Beta Software got in the way. So, I mentioned it in the solution. How should I cancel a discussion - and move it to here, when it's been discussed and replied so many times. I'm trying not to delete my own posts.

The Issue: My Mac (2018 MBP 15” with Touch Bar) is a model N/A to Boot Chimes. The story in full: Last night, I backup my MBP, and then installed the macOS 10.16 Beta. I did so in order to work with the macOS and give feedback - I worked with it a few, and started to notice a Boot Chime. So, now that I got with a Boot Chime, I reset the SMC and the NVRAM and booted into Safe Mode. To no resort, the Boot Chime remained. Having given feedback, I backed up the macOS, informed Apple Support via chat and was told to call Apple Support being that this is “intriguing” to hear, as My Mac (2018 MBP 15” with Touch Bar) is a model N/A to Boot Chimes. So, I called Apple Support back. I showed them the noise, I erased the partition, and reinstalled the macOS anew. Still - there is a Boot Chime. So, I erased the partitions, and moved ahead with a Boot Chime. Right now, I am restoring my Mac to a TMB prior to yesterday. It will take a bit to get complete.  Any Thoughts as to why I would get a Boot Chime after installing this Beta Software (macOS 10.16 Big Sur)?  As mentioned above: My Mac (2018 MBP 15” with Touch Bar) is a model N/A to Boot Chimes.
