User Profile

I'm sure this is an easy question but I can't seem to get past it. I am trying to 'Archive' my application so that I can do an Ad-Hoc distribution to a few team-members. When I select the 'generic iOS device' then select Product->Archive, what I get is shown in the following screen shot:Every time, the application isn't archived though the file storage is created. The 'Validate Content' is greyed out and I've confirmed that if you 'Distribute Content' it contains only directory names. I've googled and there is about a bizzilion issues similar to this but most are several years old and the answers don't match the current xcode interface. Can anyone explain this to me or point me to a good tutorial on how to set the project up so that it archives properly.
