We struggle with interpreting Apples Review Guidelines regarding other purchase methods than In App Purchases. Short background: our app features a pro version, that can be purchased with in app purchases (autorenewable subscription). We currently plan to offer our app to businesses as well, which would buy multiple licenses of our pro version at once and distribute these to their staff. We plan, however, to use other purchase methods than in app purchases for businesses. Of course these payments would happen outside of the app and we won't link or hint towards them from inside the app. As widely known, Apple restricts every content unlock to in app purchases only, with some listed exceptions. Do you think our use case conforms to Apple Guidelines? Especially to: 3.1.3(c) Enterprise Services: If your app is only sold directly by you to organizations or groups for their employees or students (for example professional databases and classroom management tools), you may allow enterprise users to access previously-purchased content or subscriptions. Consumer, single user, or family sales must use in-app purchase. Of course our app won't be sold exclusively to other businesses, but also to consumers directly via in app purchases. A common practice to offer purchase methods other than IAP seems to be spreading your service across multiple platforms. If 3.1.3(c) is not covering our use case, do you think, that we can get around IAP by making our service available on multiple platforms? Or is this a different pair of shoes? Any help or sharing of experience while developing for both consumer and businesses is highly appreciated! Sadly, Apple Support itself won't comment Business Models beforehand.
