I created a new project using the Augmented Reality App template in Xcode 10.1. Running this app with no changes results in 2 warnings when running through Xcode on an iPhone XS Max. Same error occurs whether tethered or connecting via network. Running the same code through Xcode on an iPhone 7 Plus results in no errors. Any ideas why? (Log… Show more
Hi there, we have a problem when building our AR app and testing on iPhone 6s and 7, both running on iOS12.1. The App is built in Unity 2018.3.11, XCode 10.1 and ARKIt 1.5 as image Anchors are not supported in 2.0. A setup with 35 Image Anchors is connected to 35 video files that shall play when detected. All was fine when using up to 10 Image… Show more
35 images is too many. You'll need to reduce the set. See: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/arkit/arworldtrackingconfiguration/2941063-detectionimages Performance Considerations Image detection accuracy and performance are reduced with larger numbers of detection images. For best results, use no more than around 25 images in…
Any idea when "AR QuickLook" will natively support vertical plane pinning? Is there any chance that it is under development currently and will be out for developers?
I am working on an object segmentation problem in AR space and we are using ARKit2. ARKit has this object scanning and detection capability which finds out interesting points (features) and uses them for detection. I was thinking of clustering these extracted features and segmenting the object using a weakly-supervised approach. ARKit gives… Show more
I’m about to submit our new ARKit2 Face Tracking controlled game over the weekend and have only just noticed that while there is a UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities key for ARKit, there doesn‘t appear to be one that requires suitable hardware for face tracking (ie iPhone X and above or new iPad Pro) Is there a way to flag this for the App Store so… Show more
Yes; and to clarify the 'arkit' key will limit the app to all ARKit-capable devices (iPhone 6S and later, iPad 9.7" and later). My answer above pertains to ARKit Face Tracking capability, available on iPhone X and later, and the new iPad Pro. There isn't currently a way to limit to just those devices.
In the video https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2018/607/ at around 20:37 there's the great example program w/ the school buses demonstrating cool stuff being done with ICBs. Is the code for this demo available somewhere? I haven't been able to find it. Thanks.
These don't have the buses or demonstrate off-axis culling, but a pair of ICB samples were just posted last week: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/metal/advanced_command_setup/encoding_indirect_command_buffers_on_the_gpu https://developer.apple.com/documentation/metal/advanced_command_setup/encoding_indirect_command_buffers_on_the_cpu
I found that there is still lacking of documentation of "USDZ Converter", so I might start some kind of thread talking about this. So far I found developer 'Ash' out there has been really helpful and we are still discovering USDZ feature, gotchas and limitations along the way. There is this USD Interest group at Google Groups that is more… Show more
Before updating Xcode today I was able to convert .obj files to usdz without any issue. I have tried searching the internet and even turning it off and back on again.
