It's a little bit unclear to me whether I get a list of available or installed voices on the device. If an app requests a voice which is available but not installed, what happened? Is it upon the app to install the missing voice or is this done by iOS automatically? For some reasons, a male and female gender is not offered for each language. What's the reason for?

Since Xcode 14.0.1 I have the problem that subsequent builds takes longer and longer to be finished. The problem occurs only if the program is started once a time and then rebuild. From this point subsequent builds via ⌘B increase the total time to build with every additional run. Interestingly the total build time of a C++ project increases exponentially whereas a pure Storyboard Swift-based project seems to be increase linear in time. In my case after 10 recompilations you have to wait more than 1 minute to complete even for small projects with just a dozen files to compile. The only workaround is to close/reopen the project. But it's not a solution. It doesn't matter whether the code base is changing or not, the build time increases in any case. Because this phenomenon is a real showstopper when developing software, I downgrade Xcode to version 13.4.1 (13F100). And all problems gone. The problem I describe above is documented at least on two places, here Stackoverflow and here SWIFT Forum There are one suggestions to circumvent the problem but in my case this seems not to work: Setting SWIFT_USE_INTEGRATED_DRIVER=NO in the target Downgrading to Xcode 13.4.1 seems the best workaround. The IMac M1 operates with the latest Monterey version 12.6.2.

I noticed after upgrading Xcode up to 14, that when I edit the code the asterisk in the tab beside the name of the file is not shown anymore. So it seems there's no visual response whether a file is edited or not. is this a bug or intention?

Hi folks, connecting any hearing device to iOS you almost have control to volume and programs of the hearing device via control panel. So in most cases the official app of the hearing device manufacturer is not needed.I assume for volume-program control there must be a general API to be exist, but I haven't found anything all over the developer documentation sites. I looked up Health-Kit., Accessebility-Kit, Bluethooth and so on as well Google&Co.I'm wondering how Apple integrates this stuff...

Hello,A navigation controller within a complex storyboard behaves strange after migrate Xcode up to 11.2.The controller has two navigation items on the left (Back) and on the Right (Play). They disapperar in respect of segue from another view controller regarding its kind: Show (push) let the two buttons appear, Present modally over fullscreen (to avoid the new card scheme) let them disappear. But for using the new card scheme, any additional navigation items has no sense anymore. (because you close the card when moving down without touching "Back" as until now.But I do not see the point to change the complete logic of my app. So Present modally over fullscreen to prevent the new behavior seems the only solution. So is there any workaround to make the navigation buttons behaving as prior to ios13?

I have defined a class named c1 for a prototype cell like follows:defined the code for c1 like this:class c1 : UITableViewCell { public func configure(indexPath: IndexPath) -> Self { let place = places[indexPath.row] self.textLabel?.text = place.name self.detailTextLabel?.text = "\(place.timestamp)" return self } }* don't worry about undefined "places" so farInside the UITableViewController following code:override func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> UITableViewCell { let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "Cell1", for: indexPath) // Configure the cell... return cell.configure(indexPath: indexPath); }But this doesn't work because obv. the compiler doesn't know about c1: "Value of type 'UITableViewCell' has no member 'configure'" at line 6.I think: Because the dequeReusableCell() asks for a specified identifier "Cell1" which in turn has to be implemented by the custom class "c1" which is also specified in the storyboard. So the xcode editor has to accept the cells type according the custom class and shouldn't throw a compiler issue regarding the unknown ".configure" method.
