Hi All, Any else experiencing difficulties with the install? Upgrading from beta one and been stuck for hours. Did it all take long for someone? Any tips for a workround if needed? I have a backup, but I'd rather sort it somehow. Thank you loads for tips!
Hi, there does seem to be something going on with beta 2, beta 1 installed fine (wanted to start looking at SwiftUI) but beta 2 starts the install, getts to [15 seconds Remaining] before announcing "Could not create a preboot volume for APFS install" I have tried rebooting, but keep hitting the same error. I am getting an error after the download saying: Could not create a preboot volume for APFS install. Is anyone else seeing this? How can you get around it?
I got this message too. But I tried again and it got past this point. It is currently at “21 minutes remaining...” There is a thread at macrumors.com about this error message also. Someone there said that booting into the recovery partition (with cmd-R) and repairing both partitions with disk utility will help get around this.
I‘ve just installed beta2. Now my MacBook Pro 2018 doesn‘t startup anymore. Progress bar on black screen raises to the end, but becomes slower and slower till end, then MacBook boots again. Already several times. Restore (Option+Cmd+r) does nothing. Beta1 did work, except permanent errors in preferences.
The App Store app is logged out, and logging in with the correct credentials spins for a moment then leaves the app without being logged in. As of now I'm suspecting a filesystem issue, perhaps permissioning, as I've seen other things that might point that way. Anyone else seeing this?
Got an iMac 2017 with 3,12 TB Fusion-Drive... Have a large Collection of Audiobooks.
