haretzbr Oct 2, 2015 7:46 PM (in response to Max108)Hi Max108!
Thank you - you have saved my life!!!
Just our of curiosity: what exactly happened? How did you pinpoint the exact culprits? When should I try to reinstate what was moved to the "Unsupported" folder?
Thank you again - I will have a good night's sleep now

Re: Max108 help!! El Capitan won't boot!
Max108 Oct 2, 2015 8:00 PM (in response to haretzbr)You're welcome!
Through troubleshooting these issues with people on these forums, I've discovered that El Capitan's new security measures don't mix well with a surprisingly large number of 3rd party kernel extensions (kexts) - it fails to handle them properly and causes OS X to fail to boot.
Of the kexts in the Unsupported folder, Soundflower and EltimaASync are definitely best left there. In general, when updating to a new version of OS X, it's worth checking for updated versions of all software that employ kexts - preferably they should explicitly support the new platform before installing them, but id depends on the software.
Anyway, glad it's sorted for you
