Issue with the size of subtitles on Netflix.

I am usingNetflix on an Apple TV 4K I am using subtitles with my video apps and they are set at a custom size and syle (and video override is set to OFF).

After updating to tvOS 13.3, the subtitles in Netflix app have become very small.

I‘ve tried changing the settings and restarting but the issue is still there with Netflix. On rest of the video apps (HBO, for example) the subtitles look fine.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? Any advice or just hope to get an update that fixes it.

I am having the same problem. Nothing helps...

Having the same problem since tvOS 13.3

Same problem here.
Subtitles are very small and cannot increase the size of the subtitles through the Apple TV settings
This makes it near impossible to read the subtitles on a small tv.
While Netflix is the no 1 app we use on the TV box, it makes the Apple TV box almost useless
Please fix this, it is so annoying
20191215 update:
I restored tvOS 13.2 and size of subtitles Netflix are large again 🙂
I used the explanation from this site https://support.itsolver.net/hc/en-au/articles/360000299936-Downgrade-tvOS-13-to-12-on-Apple-TV-HD-and-4K
and used the "tvOS 13.2 (17K82) for Apple TV 4 (2015)" firmware on https://ipsw.me/AppleTV5,3
and set autoupdte on "Off"

having the same problem. Nothing helps

Same here.

New year and old problems, still not corrected the issue... strange is that in my case the subtitles change the format (shade, borders) but not size.

Hi;

I chat with Netflix Help today. They know about the issue and trying to fix it on next update.

New year, same problem.
  • In my case, the subtitles in Netflix are bigger than I set in the settings. I see the right size subtitles in Amazon Prime.

I use now tvOS 16.2 now. I also had this problem with Netflix for some time and Netflix or Apple support couldn't help me. The solution: Apple TV Settings->Accesibility->Subtitle and Captations->Style->Edit Styles-> Add a custom style where inside the Font section you should change the "Video Overrides Styles" to Off. Of course, in this new profile you should set the size to Large or Very Large and make sure you select this new custom profiule to be used.

tvOS 16.2 here. My subtitle size is changing according to the aspect ratio of the video. If i’m watching rings of power the subtitles looks very tiny, but if I watch GOT it looks ok. If I set a larger size at settings it will look ok on rings of power but super large on GOT. Its very annoying.

Same problem. Ironically, I prefer small subtitles so of course the ones showing up on Netflix are HUGE! They take up half of my 60" screen.
