Error working with Symantec VIP access

IOS13.3.
When trying to connect to VPN, a request triggers the VIP Access app, but I get a message "This request could not be completed due to network connectivity issues. Try to log on again. Error Code 5001

Yup I'm seeing the same error on 13.3 and also on the last public beta of 13.2

Things I tried to fix it (but none of them worked):

1.) Restart the phone

2.) Uninstall VIP access, restart the phone and re-install it

3.) Uninstall VIP access, reset all network settings, restart the phone and re-install it.

The same. Tried to reattach my account to Symantec with HelpDesk but no luck. Swiched to Mac version of VIP Access as workaround.

Same here on iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Delted, reinstalled and paired it but same. FWIW, you can use the CODE OK, but not the haptic press to accept...bummer.

The Mac version doesn't work at all for me, so this is it for now.

Public beta 13.3 didn't solve this problem... it needs to be fixed!

Same issue encountered here, looks like this is related to distrusted Symantec CA certificate.

VIP Access connection goes to 'https://messaging.vip.symantec.com', which the TLS server certificate is issued by CA VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5.

I'm guessing Apple finally remove it from the root certificate Trust Store in iOS 13.3: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208860

So the question is, when does Symantec plan to fix this?

Not holding my breathe for SYMC to fix...

You can "fix" this by triggering an approval on the iPhone - choose "Deny".
Now, try again, and choose "Allow". It should work. Confirmed on two iPhones - 6s and 11 Pro Max.
