iCloud photos on Catalina

Having no luck in getting iCloud photos to sync on Catalina. They sync between iOS 13 devices OK, but Photos on MacOS is just showing either "Updating" or "Analyzing Library"


Filing a radar about it, and figure its a known issue but anyone else seeing the same? p

Mine's been running at 95% CPU usage and choking every other program for months. This is terrible. I'm exporting all photos and never using iPhotos again. I didn't ask for this photo analysis process and I don't use it, so it's ridiculous that it's negatively affecting everything that I use my Mac for. No vote of confidence here.
