I need to install Xcode 8 in Mojave...or downgrade Mojave

Hello,

Our team is not familiar with Xcode. We only have a couple of mobile programs in our company that need to be released in-house. In order to release them in-house mobile apps/programs, we use a program to convert our code (PowerBuilder/Appeon) to Xcode format. However, conversion only supports until Xcode 8 so we need Xcode 8 to be installed in our Mac...or downgrade our MacOS from Mojave to maybe Sierra.

Appreciate any help.

Can get XCode 8 here (if you have a developer contract). I would not try to downgrade OSX version (not even sure it is possible).

search for Xcode.

Note: take care to rename this Xcode as Xcode8, to avoid having 2 instances of Xcode with the same name. And don'tb open your present Xcode 10 with another.

Good luck.

Hello,

Thanks for replying. As noted earlier however, we did already downlaod Xcode 8. However, we are unable to install or run Xcode 8 - my best guess is that it is not compatible with Mojave.

Xcode version compatibility vs. macOS can be found via the xcode wiki

If you have such legacy, a good approach would be to keep an old Mac with High Sierra and old XCode. And do conversion there.

AFAIK, XCode 8 will not run on Mojave. But XCode9 does.
