my solution for Mail crash at start up on macOS Catalina 10.15

I recently installed the macOS Catalina beta... Mail kept crashing everytime I try to open it.

My solution was to follow the steps on this webpage:

https://appletoolbox.com/2018/09/mail-not-working-after-macos-mojave-upgrade-how-to-fix/

I then restarted my Mac and Mail import screen finally came up but still crashes midway -- saying Mail is damaged... something to that effect.

I then run 'First Aid' on my main partition then restarted my Mac.

I was still having issues -- Mail still will stop midway during the Mail import. I then decided to move my 'Mail' folder in my ~/Library/ folder to the Trash.

I finally was able to open Mail and use it -- with all my old mailboxes/folders intact.

Warning -- this may not work for you... but if you are willing to take the risk please go ahead and follow the steps above.

I also tried the process and found that the last resort of deleting my mail folder from library was my last hope and it also worked.

Thanks for the hint.

Apple mail seems to rebuild the mail as well, which is awesome.

I’m running Catalina beta 8, and Mail works fine until I try to print, at which point Mail quits (but the document prints anyhow). I didn’t have this problem in beta 7.

Tried the last resort as well and worked for me, thank you so much!
