adhoc distribution certificate

Hi,


We have an adhoc distribution certificate expiring in about a week. We will create a new adhoc distribution certificate but what will happen to the apps in the test device? When we build and install apps created with new certificates with same provisional profile, will it prompt an update or a fresh install?

The apps will go dark/stop working when the cert expires, but nothing about that process will prompt an update or fresh install outside of telling the tester the current profile is not valid.


Whatever process was used originally will need to be repeated.

Hi same question with an added detail.

The adhoc distribution was done via the MDM.

After going through the steps to create a new aadhoc distribution with the new distribution certificate will we then be able to use the MDM to push out the app with the new adhoc distribution and overlay the old app?
