When I attempt to upgrade, I get the following error about halfway through the install:
"Could not create a preboot volume for APFS install."
I have attempted to upgrade twice with the same result.
Is there any way to re-install MacOS Mojave to a machine with Catalina beta installed?

I got the same error. I have restarted and downloaded for many times. Nothing works and no reply.
Maybe the only solution is wating for the next version.

Boot into Recovery, delete the Partitions and reinstall via Internet-Recovery.
You should choose between, original OS and last installed OS-Version.
Thanks for your reply. I tried them all and still, nothing works. My mac mini upgraded without issue but my macbook failed for over 10 times (for both public beta and developer beta 3). The only difference I could recall is, I once installed double system (windows) on macbook through boot camp assistant, and after a few month I deleted it. Now I have only one partition and all checks seem fine.
Anyway I decided to give up. It's such a waste of time. Thanks again for your advice!
