Photos problems after update

Start the app for the first time after the OS update.

Just complete the update of the Phototheque.

Here is the message. Unable to open the app after.

Under "About This Mac"; Storage/Manage, then select Photos and select "Optimaze Photo Library" worked for me. After this action, Photos opened the Library correctly

That option is only available if the Photos Library is on the same drive macOs is installed on.

Has this been fixed in the latest public beta? I've got my photos on an external drive as well and I'm also getting the PHPhotosErrorDomain Code=4302 error. Lucky I can go back to Mojave, but I'm afraid to update to Catalna at all!

I have the same issue. My entire home folder is on an external SSD. The reason i have my home folder like this is because we still can't choose the iCloud Drive folder location and I don't have 2 TB on my soldered main drive...
