i want to develop a new hardware that is HomeKit enabled.
I already know that i have to get a MFI-licence from apple to develop this, but i do not understand how much this costs?
I guess it is not free, so it would be nice if anyone could explain me how the process of getting a MFI-licence works.

There is no MFi program fee. There is a per-device/connector licensing fee.
See this link for a 2yr. old anecdotal comment, remembering that participation in the program includes NDAs prohibiting discussion of specific elements in public, etc.:
