AVAsset from XAVC format material not readable

I am trying to instantiate an AVAsset with a video that is XAVC format. Unfortunately the instance isReadable property returns false and has 0 tracks. Other instances with video from sat an iPhone are fine. The XAVC material opens in QuickTime Player 10 fine. Anyone have any experience with this format? Thanks! Adam
