HomeKit Compliance Test Plans

The requirement mentioned in the document "HomeKit Certification Test case R8.0" is:

"Accessories that contains the BLE Lock mechanism service MUST not return the error in the HAT when writing and reading value to the lock mechanism target state characteristic."

As per our requirement, we want to support passcode to authenticate the lock/unlock operation.

And Homekit standard "LOCK "service does not support/include passcode for authentication

So, there is no option in iOS native Home app to provide passcode?

If no, to justify our requirement we are planning to use HomeKit "LOCK" Service to just read the lock/unlock value and not for the device unlock/lock.

So is that OK to bypass an absolute "LOCK mechanism Control" requirement test(Lock Target state write operation) failure for HomeKit Certification?

This sounds like a strict MFi question, which should be put to DTS via one of your support tickets vs. risking an NDA violation here in devForums.
